Jawad Sultan Technologies LLC awarded “The Unified Communications solution Project of the year”
In the recently concluded Avaya Business Partner meet, held in Dubai, Avaya awarded their only business partner for Oman, Messrs Jawad Sultan Technologies LLC , “The Unified Communications solution –Project of the year,2007” .

The project refers to the Petroleum Development of Oman IP Telephony project bagged by Jawad Sultan Technologies LLC ,offering the Avaya IP Telephony solution .This prestigious project is currently being rolled out by them .

Petroleum Development of Oman is the leading premier hydrocarbon exploration and production company in the Sultanate of Oman . The aim of this project is to build an IP telephony infrastructure that will be used to deliver the future voice communication services in PDO. To provide PDO with an IP based system that meets their technical requirements and has sufficient capacity and functionality to grow and meet their business demands is a challenge with respect to the convergence of communication and technology that Jawad Sultan Technologies LLC has taken on and would successfully complete the same with its competent team .

JST deployed the entire Avaya suite of IPT & Unified Communications products. The very reliable, state of the art, S8720 Media Server /G650 media gateways with the Avaya Communication Manager software was offered. It’s a solution based on the Avaya’s S8720 Media server.Designed to meet the most demanding customer environments, the S8720 Media Server, in conjunction with the release of Avaya Communication Manager, Release 4.0, introduces a more powerful processor and increased storage, while retaining the 2U vertical form factor of the S87XX Series platforms. As a result, the S8720 Media Server with hardware duplication delivers up to 600,000 BHCC The S8720 is based on the powerful AMD Opteron processor, and runs on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4.0 operating system.

The S8720 can support up to 36,000 stations and 44,000 ports, up to 12,000 IP endpoints (which is a cumulative total of IP trunks, IP stations and SIP trunks), and 8,000 trunks enabling it to support large multi-national corporations and contact center operations.

PDO can move into the new world of IP telephony and converged voice/data/video networking, while maintaining all features and applications developed by Avaya over a century long tradition of setting the standards in enterprise voice communications.

The S8720 platform will provide the level of redundancy and security that is far superior to anything in the industry today. The platform consists of a fully redundant platform with seamless failover and no single point of failure.

The Avaya platforms also encrypt all voice and signaling channels hence providing ultimate security to the voice network. The end users will have several new features not present today within the PDO enterprise, such as the ability to use Softphones, inside as well as outside the enterprise. Extension to Cellular features, which will allow users to carry their extension in their pocket which includes the ability to record calls that come to their cell phone through their extension. Other features include: conferencing, WML/XML phones with integrations to LDAP, the ability to get stock quotes on their phones etc.
